Overview

Tipzyy’s technology makes it easy for venues to educate staff and incentivize performance. Staff promotions integrate with POS systems and include tableside education, helping teams improve product knowledge and engagement during service.

Venues benefit from increased sales, improved operational efficiency, and a more consistent customer experience, creating a repeatable way to motivate teams each shift.

Project Goals

Improve the Tipzyy app and create supporting UX and brand assets that can be reused going forward, including a website and brand manual.

My Role

As the solo UX designer on the team, I supported product and brand work across the app, website, and supporting collateral.

  • User Research:
    Conducted interviews and user research, including participant recruitment aligned to both current and target demographics. Used findings to guide product decisions and validate core assumptions behind the app concept.
  • Website Concept to Delivery:
    Took the website from early concept through design execution, supporting the full end-to-end process.
  • Usability Testing Support:
    Worked with the team running user tests, including participant interaction, observation, note taking, and synthesis to support iterative improvements.
  • UI and Prototype Design:
    Designed high-fidelity prototypes, UI elements, and mockups used for both testing and development handoff.
  • Cross-team Collaboration:
    Partnered with Tipzyy’s customer insights and marketing teams to better understand the customer base and translate insights into product and messaging improvements.
  • Analysis and Reporting:
    Conducted analysis and prepared reports, including presenting findings and recommendations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Asset Redesign:
    Led UI redesign work across company digital assets to improve consistency and overall quality.
  • Stakeholder Alignment:
    Gathered requirements from stakeholders, clients, and the development team to ensure shared understanding and smooth execution.
  • Analytics Dashboard Concept:
    Designed a dashboard concept to help users understand analytics in a clear, visually approachable, and easy-to-consume interface.

Impact

The redesigned app experience and supporting brand assets helped establish a clearer product narrative and more consistent user experience across Tipzyy’s digital touchpoints.

Improvements to usability, visual consistency, and information clarity supported internal alignment and enabled the team to more effectively communicate product value to venues and stakeholders.

The website and dashboard concepts provided a scalable foundation for future product enhancements and ongoing UX iteration as the platform evolved.
